The purpose of this qualification is to allow learners to demonstrate an understanding of, and competency in, the digital functional skills they need in real life. It will enable learners to engage with digital services and products in everyday life.
The purpose of the Functional Skills English Level 1 and 2 qualification is to prepare the learner for work, study and life. Learners who achieve this qualification will demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, listen and communicate in English. Learners will be able to apply these skills effectively to a range of purposes in the workplace and in real life situations.
The purpose of the Functional Skills Mathematics Level 1and 2 qualification is to demonstrate both mathematical skills at the appropriate level and the ability to apply mathematical thinking effectively to solve problems successfully in the workplace and in other real life situations.
This qualification is a competence-based qualification which requires learners to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required when working in the retail industry, and is ideal for those working in their first retail role, or those who wish to progress in their retail career. Candidates must be 16 to undertake this qualification.
The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour, safeguarding and communication and professional relationships. As learners need to show competence in both skills and knowledge, they will need to be working or be on a practical placement during the taught programme of study in a learning environment (school or college). We recommend that the learner undertakes 100 hours of placement in a real work environment. To achieve the Certificate the learner must complete 11 mandatory units .
This qualification is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment. It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence): • observation of performance in the work environment

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 and above. The qualification provides an introduction to teaching and aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as: • individuals not currently in a teaching or training role
• individuals currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training)
• individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.

Thqualification is formed of mandatory and optional units. This qualification is designed to support the development of registered managers of adult social care services. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work in adult social care and to have responsibility for leading and managing a service. This will include managing and improving care and support for those accessing the service, supporting and developing the workforce, and driving the vision for their service or organisation. Developed with and supported by Skills for Care, this qualification has been designed to meet the requirements for the new apprenticeship standard for Leader in Adult Care. This qualification is most suitable for those working in a managerial role in adult care settings who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at level 5.
This qualification provides an opportunity to study a range of topics from three main areas: child care and education, babysitting and parenting responsibilities.
It contains all the units included in the Level 2 Award in Babysitting and the Level 2 Award in Preparation for the Responsibilities of Parenting. Additionally there are units covering learning, development and play.
The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years. The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce. This qualification is ideal for learners looking to work with children between birth and 5 years, and gain knowledge of working with children up to 7 years. Learners do not need to have previous experience or qualifications in working with children to undertake this qualification.
The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to become early years educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years. Upon achievement of this qualification, it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as early years educators. This qualification is designed for learners preparing to become early years educators.
This qualification is designed to support the development of leadership and management skills in early years and the knowledge and skills relating to early years practice. It is suitable for learners already working in the early years sector in a managerial role, as well as learners that may wish to develop their career or increase their understanding through professional development. To be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills, learners will need to be working in the role of leader, deputy or manager in an appropriate setting, or have the opportunity to carry out responsibilities associated with these roles to be able to study for the Level 5 Diploma for the Early Years Senior Practitioner. The total number of mandatory work placement hours is a minimum of 300 hours.
This qualification is part of the new children’s homes regulations which came into force in April 2015.
It has replaced the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management Pathway) as the required qualification for those working in children’s homes.
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in residential childcare settings for children and young people. The qualification enables the learner to gain essential skills and knowledge for leading in a residential childcare setting, including leading and managing a team; leading and managing group living; leading practice to support children and young people; and implementing policies and procedures.
It also offers the learner the opportunity to cover optional topics which are particularly suited to specific residential childcare and respite care settings. Learners will need to be working in the role of Deputy or Manager in an appropriate setting, or have the opportunity to carry out responsibilities associated with these roles to be able to study for the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
